Our committee depends on the collective effort of dedicated volunteers who work together to advance Democratic values. No one can do it alone—democracy thrives when many hands and voices come together. Here are the individuals currently helping to lead the Miami County Democratic Committee.
Our Miami County Communities
Miami County, KS has deep historical roots, with connections to Native American heritage and the Civil War that shape our story. It is full of beautiful landscapes where we can make memories, and is home to great communities to raise our families. Miami County is close enough to Kansas City for easy access to urban amenities, and far enough away to enjoy a more relaxed pace of life and our incredible sunsets.
Yet the Miami County Democratic Party understands that its not all wide blue skies. Folks in our communities still face significant challenges every day. Economic growth is modest, with local businesses often struggling to access resources, and income levels lag behind national average. Infrastructure demands such improving roads and bridges, upgrading water and electrical systems, and connecting our communities to broadband remain pressing concerns. Access to healthcare, particularly mental health services is limited- a challenge reflected across rural Kansas. Each of our school districts has unique advantages, challenges, and needs and it is essential that we continue to invest in our educational resources and support services to ensure a bright future for all Miami County children.
The Miami County Democratic Party is committed to addressing these challenges by working to fulfill the principles of the Kansas Democratic Party and building a strong Democratic presence in our community. We strive to foster awareness and dialogue about the issues impacting our neighbors. By identifying and supporting candidates for local boards and state legislative positions, we aim to amplify the voices of Miami County residents. At the heart of our mission is ensuring that every person in our community has the opportunity to thrive, with accessible voting rights as a cornerstone of our democracy.
